My name is Huma Amin and I am from Pakistan. I completed my undergraduate study in “Agricultural Sciences with specialization in Plant Pathology” from University of the Punjab. During my graduation, I always dreamt to apply abroad for my higher studies but it seems impossible to me every time. After my graduation, I read an inspiring quote of Ed Cole saying that “You don’t drown by falling in the water; you drown by staying there”. This urged me to apply for my masters in abroad and for this I chose one of the prestigious master programs ‘MEDFOR’ due to its diversity. MEDFOR is the only program which addresses simultaneously the economic, ecological and social challenges of sustainable forestry and natural resources management to combat the climate change and forestry issues. For my specialization, I selected University of Valladolid (Palencia) from remaining seven consortium universities. One of the main reasons is the course contents that are offering by University of Valladolid (Palencia). They are offering variety of courses of advanced knowledge to cope up with the future challenges of forest and economic sector. Another reason to choose University of Valladolid is the Academic Staff and Research facilities. Teachers are good, helpful and cooperative. I love to live in Palencia, though it is a small city but it is the beautiful place. Having a walk every day in the lush beauty by the river is an unforgettable experience for me. People, here are very cooperative and ready to guide and help you at any time. By choosing Palencia, I got an excellent opportunity to learn and adopt diverse cultures. After my stay here in Palencia, I am expecting that I should be a person who will serve the community with the knowledge that I will gain from here. To conclude about University of Valladolid, those who wants to concentrate on study more, wants to experience diverse cultures, wants to get comfortable university’s environment, wants to get unforgettable beautiful memories and discover the inner self in a beautiful place, should think about this university.
